The Super Blood Wolf Moon
Our very first Full Moon of January 2019, is called the Super Blood Wolf Moon. On January 21st, the Moon will be full at 12:16 A.M. EST in Leo. However, on the evening of January 20th and into the early morn on the 21st, we will bear witness to an exceptional Full Moon phenomenon. It’s a Full Moon, a total lunar eclipse, a Blood Moon, and a Supermoon all in one. You may be wondering what does that all mean? With so many astrological events occurring at once, how do we energetically work with this year’s first Full Moon?
Total Lunar Eclipse
Just a few hours before the Full Moon peaks, a total lunar eclipse will happen. A total lunar eclipse occurs when the Full Moon moves into the shadow of the Earth. This eclipse will be visible for all of North, Central and South America. Lucky us to be in the viewing area of this grand Full Moon. On the evening of January 20th, we will begin to see the eclipse around 9:35 P.M. EST. It will end on January 21st at 2:50 A.M.
This Lunar Eclipse coupled with the Full Moon will only intensify what is going on in your personal life. The Moon and Sun opposite of each other enhances your instincts. By focusing a light on your emotional needs, you will be able to see your relationships clearer for what they are and are not. Be aware that this is not a time to make sudden changes in your relationships. Take special care with rash decisions at this time. It is an excellent time however to let go of your emotional baggage.
There is a great deal of moon lore surrounding a Blood Moon. A Blood Moon happens when there is a total lunar eclipse.
A Blood Moon often brings unexpected news that changes your plans. Due to intensified emotions at this time, be prepared for mood swings and outbursts from those close to you. Staying calm in the chaos is vital.
The Wolf Moon
The Wolf Moon is the Native American name for the January’s Full Moon. It was named this by the Native Americans because of the howl of the hungry wolves. It was during this time of year one could hear the hungry wolf’s howl loudest on the cold winter nights.
We also know this Moon by an even older name, that of ‘The Old Moon.’
This Full Moon in Leo, begs us to brave enough to hear honest feedback and criticism when offered. It is through our courage to listen and internalize said criticisms that we have an opportunity to grow.
A Supermoon happens when there is both a Full Moon and the Moon’s orbit comes closest to the Earth. This closer orbit causes the Supermoon to be a bit brighter in the nights’ sky.
This closer proximity to the Earth serves to further increase the Full Moons’ energetic influence on our lives.
